SilvAnderson was setup whilst I was on Maternity leave. I really wanted to spend time with my little lady and watch her grow. However, the reality of the coming months of motherhood and going back to work, arranging child minding facilities and leaving the baby in someone else’s care led and inspired me to create my own little venture.
I had been working in property management for a few years with a total of 5 years’ experience after leaving Barclays Bank which help me hone in on my financial skillset.
Just like that SilvAnderson was born. My 1st client signed up and handed over 20 properties to manage in the 1st sitting! The learning curve on this was immense. I admit at times getting to grips was challenging, as a couple of them where HMO’s. The experience made me learn swiftly and grow stronger, benefiting both myself and my growing family.
I had avoided property management for a while although I watched and learned from my mum, who had a few properties of her own, and managed them herself. Time changed and mum decided to head overseas for her retirement. This would mean the properties needed looking after. Again, I wasn’t interested until one day I was asked to visit a flat for an emergency. On entering I was appalled to see a serious damp / condensation problem. That was the day everything changed for me. I wanted mum and dad to enjoy their retirement and knew it was time to step up and take over. Being in the corporate world of IT and running my own business in music has equipped me with business knowledge that helped me to do things a little differently, especially with my customer service experience. I wanted property management to have more of a personal feel. I have used all my knowledge and experience to start SilvAnderson with my partner ensuring that our customers will benefit from our combined skills and personal touch.
